Summer!

                                             SUMMER!

                                                                               2016

Hi everyone I know I haven't been posting a lot but I'm going to start again. Hi I'm Betsy Lou and this is my blog Betsy Lou Adventures today I'm going to tell about my summer. So in the first week of summer I went to this summer school called PQA where you make up a play from a blank piece of paper and in just one week we came up with a play full of comedy and fun. I had lots of fun taking part in this play and I made lots new friends I would definitely recommend it to people aged 5 -12. Anyways this week I went to Pakefield caravan park in Lowestoft because my grandad has a caravan there. Whilst I was there I went to a nice place called Gorleston and they do the best Ice -Cream I
have ever tasted. this time I had a chocolate and bubblegum whippy and I would give it a 10/10 yay!

this week I have been in the house a lot because my mum works at home and she needs to finish things but yesterday my friends came round and we played a spy game where we were Zootropolis animals and we found someone who had been attacked (just pretend) and we had to solve the mystery of who did it. we never finished that game because they had to go home. waaaaaa!!!! so sad so that's about it for my summer except lounging about.

Later in the summer I am going on a  cruise to Norway so I will ask my mum to bring her laptop so I will keep you guys updated throughout the summer that's enough from me now goodbye!

PS comment down below what you've been doing this summer

My favourite outfits

As you may know I love clothes and Fashion and today I wanted to share some of the outfits I like wearing.

I love dressing up and had to go to two "posh do's" recently so I have been able to dress up and wear nice dresses and shows.

I got my silver dress for Christmas last year. It's from Next. I really like to dress because I love the material and the colour. I wore it to the Christmas Panto last year and for Afternoon Tea this year.

I got my black dress for Christmas two years ago. I love the collar and the pink Sash. My sister also has one so we match when we wear them! I wore it last weekend to a family dinner.

I got my Black and White skirt recently from George at Asda. It is my favourite skirt at the moment because I loev the high waist I like wearing it with a T shirt, Denim Jacket and either silver sandals from Old Navy or Hi-Top Trainers. I wore it to see the Railway Childen in London and I also wore it to music school last week - it's an outfit you can dress up or down!

What's your favourite outfit?

Grade One Piano Exam

This term I have been preparing for my Grade One Piano Exam. It has been really hard work and has taken a lot of practice. I was a little bit worried about it to start off with, but I did lots and lots of practice and practiced at School and at Home and day by day I felt more confident about the exam and the pieces I was playing sounded better.

I took my Grade One piano exam just before the end of term. I don't know the result yet but I feel proud that I persevered and practiced as much as I could and I think I am better at playing piano now than I was. Here is a short video of me practicing one of the pieces called "Na krimitku".

Summer Music Concert

On Saturday I played in the Summer Muisc Concert at Music School. It was a very big ocassion and we had to wear a posh concert dress.

This terms I have been learning Treble Recorder, Recorder and Viola. We also have a choir which I sing in. I go to music school very Saturday morning and I love it.

At the concert I played two pieces of music on each instrument and sang. We performed in front of the Mayor of our town. It was very exciting! Here is a picture of me in the concert.

Soon I am doing my grade one exam and I am practising a lot for it at the moment.

My Holiday to California

My adventures in California

At the end of May we went to California in America. We stayed in the Hotel Irvine for four days which was a brillant hotel and then we stayed at our Grandpa's house for a week which was also really cool. Grandpa has a cool house and he also has the Disney Channel which we loved!

The first couple of days, we went to Del Taco. This is a Mexican restaurant like you've never seen in England before. It has tacos, quesadillas (the soft ones) and it also has burritos. Del Taco was my favourite place to eat because it had delicious Mexican food. We also went to Rubios (king of the fish taco) which is another Mexican restaurant. My sister BooJam went to a sandwich place called "Which Wich" and she loved the food there.

We went to Knottsberry Farm and I went on the Jaguar rollercoaster ride. My sister couldn't go on because she was too small. The queuing was very scary because it was in an egyptian tomb, but the ride was really good. One of the rides was really cool. It was a ride where you got to lay down and fly in Camp Snoopy. I loved it and so did my sister too. We also went on a ride where we bounced up and down and that was so much fun.

We went to Hollywood to look around. Our tour guide was Grandpa.  We saw the Hollywood Sign, Manns Chinese Theatre, the handprints in the concrete on the floor and the Hollywood walk of Fame which had lots of stars on the floor. I saw the handprints of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. They are my favourite characters from Harry Potter.

Los Angeles has lots of swimming pools. We went in a swimming pool with diving boards and had lots of fun swimming around and diving.

We went to Newport Beach and I was swimming in the sea and there was this really big wave and I had to cling onto the sand as the wave washed over me. It really hurt but it was also cool at the same time. We also bought necklaces for each other.

We went whale watching with Captain Dave's Whale Watching and we saw a Fin Whale and Bottlenose Dolphins and we also saw some baby dolphins. We also saw grey dolphins as we came into the harbour and the seals too. They were really stinky!

I loved California and I can't wait to go back again!

My Build a Bear - Princess Sugar

In February I went to Build a Bear workshop in Milton Keynes for my birthday and I made a Build a Bear.

The bear was flat when you picked it but then you had a special machine which stuffed them. You can pick a song recording for them to play and so I chose "Let it Go" from my favourite film "Frozen".

You had to choose clothes for them. I chose some pyjamas for her, a top and skirt outfit, and a beautiful sleeping beauty dress. The dress had a crown.

I called my bear Princess Sugar. She is pink with pink and white hearts and I love her. My sister got one too called Elsa.

We also got hair brushes and special bags for our bears, and a rucksack to carry her in.

I love my build a bear and take her almost everywhere!

She's so cuddly and I take her to bed with me. Above is a picture of her.

Heat Holder Tight and Socks

A nice company sent me and my sister some Heat Holder tights to review. They also sent my Mummy some fluffy socks too.

Mummy says that "Heat Holders are the ultimate thermal brand as their average tog rating for thermal wear is 2.34 tog". That's very warm.

Our tights were black and very stretchy, I like that they are black as we can wear them with lots of things. On the Heat Holders website, they also sell lots of different colours. I liked the pink socks they had too.

When I tried my tights on, I could instantly feel inside that they were very warm and comfy. It's still very cold, and so we wore them to school one day and I felt much warmer running around the playground than I do in my normal tights. I also wore them with a skirt and top when we went for a walk to the woods and they kept my feet and legs very warm in my welly boots.

I would recommend these to my friends and to other children. If I saw them in a shop I would ask Mummy to buy them for me because they are amazing at keeping you warm in the winter and they look cool too.

Mummy said that the heat holder socks kept her feet lovely and warm too, and really helped at night time when she had cold feet in bed and when she was working in her office in the day. She has been wearing them a lot. She said that they keep her feet seven times warmer than the average cotton sock!

There are other products in the Heat Holder range for children like socks, slipper socks and girls tights. As it is quite a shivery start to Spring, we have been enjoying wearing our Heat Holder tights a lot!

Sparkly Trainers

These shoes are new shoes which my sister Boo Jam and me got given for Christmas from our family. We really love them because firstly, they are so sparkly! They have amazing jewels on them which glisten in the sun. They are also made in our favourite colours - pink and purple and a little bit of blue and white. Mine have laces and my sisters have velcro on them because she is still learning laces. We have been waiting for some nice weather to wear them and this week we finally got to wear them.

The best thing about our trainers are that when you jump in them they light up which is so awesome!

We absolutely love them!

Cool School Uniform

Here I am today dressing up in an old School Uniform at the Roald Dahl Museum.

I would love to wear a school uniform like this with a blazer and a hat. One day I would love to go to a school where you have to wear a hat every day because I think it looks really cool. I also want to get to play lacrosse because I have been reading a lot of Malory Towers and that is what Darrell and her friends in Malory Towers wear.

At school we go to another school for swimming every week and the children there play Lacrosse and they also get to stay at the school because it is a Boarding School. I really want to go there!!!!

Our Christmas Elf on the Shelf

This year our Elves Holly Star and Angel Snow Flake have come to visit us again. They come from Santa to check that we are being good girls. While they have been here, they have been a little bit cheeky because they have been getting up to some tricks. We have found them brushing their teeth, having a bath, and also with their heads in the chocolate box - they are so cheeky!

We love our elves. Holly Star is mine and she is my favourite. On Christmas Eve they will go back to Santa.

My holiday - Atlantica Princess Rhodes

I know it's almost Christmas, but I am still excited when I remember my summer holiday. In the summer holidays I went to Greece and it was very very very very hot. We stayed at Atlantica Princess Hotel In Rhodes and there was a super cool swimming pool with a awesome water slide.Everyday at night time there was a kids disco and here are some of the songs. I loved to dance with my sister every night at the kids disco.

I put these songs on this post because they are some of my favourite ones. Also at night there was always a theme at dinner. Some of them were Mexican, Greek, Chinese, Gala andIitalian. One of the days we went to the grand palace of the knights. We also went on a boat called a submarine where we actually went under the sea! We also went to the valley of the butterflies. Here are some pictures of me and boojam on our holiday. I would definitely say that Rhodes is a fun place to visit.

When we went to the swimming me and mummy did water aerobics. Me and boojam went to a kids club and when we played musical corners this is one of the songs that we danced to.

I loved my holiday in Rhodes. I can't wait for next summer!

The Magic Box

At school I have been learning about Poetry, including "The Magic Box" by Kit Wright. You can read his poem here. I wrote a poem about my own Magic Box and what would go in it. Here it is, I hope you like it.

The Magic Box

I will put in the box
Nice dreams bursting and flowing with happiness,
Secret memories that only I know about
And all the love of the world.

I will put in the box
The sound of fire birds chirping,
A magic stone that transports you to another land.
And tears of sadness from a miserable, poor country.

I will put in the box
Calmness from the calmest person I know,
The smell of the sweetest rose perfume that mums use,
And the sound of the harmless, gentle rain.

I will put in the box
God the father, the son and the holy spirit,
Candyfloss trees and a bright blue river with a chocolate one next to it.
I will love my box forever.

The story Hindu children are told a story about salt and water that is supposed to tell them that just because you  cant see the gods does not mean they are not there.
