My Visit to Santa

Today I went into the Harlequin to do Christmas shopping with Mummy, Daddy, and Boojam.

The first thing we did was go to see Santa. I was very excited. I asked him for a Jasmine Dress and if he could give the poor at least one present for Christmas.

After that we started doing our Christmas shopping. We went to the Disney Store, Wilkinsons and Boots to buy some presents. I saw lots of lovely things in the Disney Store - it's my favourite shop.

It was a good day.

The Wolf - By "Gm451" aged 7

Hello, Betsy Lou here! my friend "gm451" (her spy name) is here playing with me, and she wanted to write a poem... So here it is. I hope you like it!!

The wind is blowing around and around

It gives me a little push.

And I see some eyes staring at me.

So I tell my partner just to shush....

and what is it?

It's a wolf!!! 

With big red eyes and sharp white teeth.

I think his favourite food is beef!

He stares at me with a cunning smile

You can see him well from a mile.

He looks like he's going to eat me....

While my friend is looking at a buzzy bee...

He pounces at me with a cunning look

I'd rather be at home reading a book!

My friend notices, and stops and stares,

Oh dear... she doesn't really seem to care!

Maybe he will eat me, maybe he'll run away.

I don't know - let's come back another day!

My Very Busy Week.

This week has been very busy!

I have been doing lots at school and at home. Here are some of the things I have done this week:

Saturday 1st December 2012
Today I was so excited because it's the first day of advent, which means that we get to get our advent calendars out. In the evening two elves came to visit us from Santa to make sure were both being good for Mummy and Daddy. My sister's elf was called Angel Snowflake and mine was called Holly Star. She came to visit me last year and I love her so much.

Sunday 2nd December 2012
Today I went to church with Mummy and I got to light the first advent candle at church - it was really exciting. After church we went to a Christmas Lunch with Daddy's work. I had soup, roast dinner and vanilla ice cream with raspberry sauce. My lunch was delicious and on the way home I fell asleep!

Wednesday 5th December 2012
Today when I woke up I was so excited because it was snowing. Snow is my favourite weather and so I couldn't wait to play in it. There was not very much snow though and soon it all disappeared so I hope that it will come back so I can build a snowman.

Friday 7th December
Today was a great day at school because we had our School Christmas Fair. I met someone very exciting - Father Christmas! and I also ate lots of cakes and sweets, and did some crafts, and had my face painted. I loved our Christmas Fair but the best thing I loved was meeting Father Christmas.

Saturday 8th December
We have a pink Christmas tree that goes in our room at Christmas, and today Daddy got it down from the loft and me and my sister Boo decorated the tree. We love our tree. Daddy Calls it 'the tree that christmas threw up on' - I don't know why. Today I have not been feeling well but I sat and watched Strictly Come Dancing snuggled under a blanket to make me feel better, and I also watched The Snowman and Father Christmas. I love Christmas films.

I went to the park and what did I see?

Ducks that quacked "Feed Me".

I went to the park and what did I see?

The wind blowing leaves off of the trees.

I went to the park and what did I see?

A dog with it's owner, running at me.

I went to the park and what did I see?

Children playing and filled with glee.

My stay at Grandma and Grandad's House

Last Friday I went to Grandma and Grandad's house for a sleepover. I stayed up and watched Children In Need and had a Hot Chocolate - I didn't like it because it didn't taste nice. My favourite part of Children In Need was seeing One Direction and Girls Aloud. I also liked the Strictly Come Dancing bit.

In the morning I had pancakes and syrup for my breakfast. They were yummy. After breakfast I got dressed. Then we went to Ayletts nursery to visit the Christmas shop. I love ballet and so I bought a pretty ballerina with a fluffy pink tutu to go on the Christmas tree.

After that we went to "the fish place" just around the corner where they sell fish food and pet fish. In the corner at the end of the fish place they had built a new mini play area. I played in the play area and Grandma and Grandad sat in the cafe and had a cup of coffee. I played with another boy and we built a castle in the play area. It was really fun.

After that we went to Sainsbury's to buy some lunch. We got bread, corned beef, and cat food (for their cat's lunch). After that we went back to their house and ate lunch.

I watched a disney princess film on Grandad's new mini dvd player and then Mummy and Daddy and Boojam came to pick me up.

I had a really nice day with Grandma and Grandad.

A Poem about Senses

Here is another poem I wrote for our big writing last Friday at school. Our topic was senses and so we had to write a poem about our sense of smell - I hadn't thought about my sense of smell too much as its something that is always there. In this poem we had to use alliteration and some more good "wow" words.

I hope you like it!

Thank you for all my nose can smell,

fresh cut grass and pretty bluebells!

The salty sea and sweet honey,

the delicious pasta I ate for my tea.

I love the smell of freshly cut bread, 

my daddy makes when I'm in bed.

The fragrant candles my mummy lights,

The smoky smell of frosty nights.

Thank you for my sense of smell,

Thank you for my nose as well.

My Firework Poem

This is the Firework Poem I wrote at school a few weeks ago for Firework night. We had to use some good Wow words and alliteration. Mummy featured my poem on her blog, but I wanted to share it on my blog too. I hope you like it!!

Hello! - My First Post!

Hello my name is Betsy Lou. I am five years old and I live in southern England with my Mummy, Daddy and my sister. My sister is called Boojam and she is three years old . She makes me laugh.

At school I am in year one. The subjects I love are reading, writing, maths and art. I love reading so much and I am a real bookworm. Other things I like outside school are swimming, ballet, jazz dance, and playing piano.

I also love singing. My favourite songs to sing are "Castle on a Cloud" from Les Miserable, "Defying Gravity" from Wicked and "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen.

I am starting this blog because I want to tell people about my life and all of the fun things I do. I also love reading and writing, so I hope to share my stories and poems with you.
